Forget Fathia! Omoh has won my heart forever

He suddenly stopped the interview midway and refused to answer any further question regarding his new marriage and his relationship with estranged wife, Fathia. He said he had made up his mind never to reveal the identity of his new wife to anyone.

Since trouble started rocking his relationship shortly before his involvement in a ghastly autocrash, Kwara State-born actor, Saheed Balogun, has recorded a number of woeful experiences. But today he feels the experiences were destined by fate.

Few months ago, some journalists came into town from Europe on a mission to interview Balogun. During the interview, the journalists came to the sensitive issue of his new spouse and why he jettisoned Fathia. Balogun declined utterly by telling the Irish pressmen that the question they’d asked was a no-go-area.

The Nollywood star, who takes pride in being called ‘Mr. James Bond’, says he believes life has taught him some great lessons and he needs to exercise more caution in answering such sensitive questions.

Balogun also hinted why he had to travel to faraway London to pick a lady of his choice despite the numerous ladies dying for him back home in Nigeria. Although, he regretted why his marriage to Fathia failed, he nevertheless explained reasons he and Fathia will never reconcile.

Sometime ago, some eminent Nigerians rose to mediate on Saheed and Fathia’s marital crisis. Balogun had sensationally opened a can of worms on what led to the break-up and atrocities committed by Fathia, among others. In fact, former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu reportedly made a quick retreat when details of the messy break-up reached him.

Despite the furore his divorce generated, Balogun said it still made sense to him to marry a London-based girl without minding the long distance. The actor also gave account of his new wife, Omoyeh Eyisojeh, whom he describes as beautiful and soft spoken.

Balogun went on to share his experience about his female colleagues in the movie industry. He said he would rather advise men to keep their wives out of public glare. According to Balogun, it is the exposure and contacts actresses get that lure them into immorality which ultimately endangers their relationships. In deed, he regretted his mistake of introducing Fathia into show business and listed this as one of the reasons his marriage crumbled.

His words: “I would never again in my life allow my wife come into showbiz or near the press. If she goes against me, that would mark an end to that relationship, I am against show-womanship.”

On hopes of a reunion with Fathia, Mr. James Bond said: “The ‘F’ letter name is not in my life anymore. It’s as if I never knew anybody that bears that name. I have remarried. So, forget about Fathia.” As he reclines on his seat, it’s so glaring that the musician-turned actor is more satisfied with the relationship with his heartthrob whom he proudly calls ‘Omoh’.

Here, like never before, Balogun opens up to “Star force’s” Yemi Omidiji on his crashed marriage. He also talks on how he succeeded in wooing Omoh, his new queen. Excerpts:

Why I divorced Fathia
I do not see Fathia as an enemy at all. But I have come to realize that we are two different people. But we cannot come together nor have anything to do together. The children are the link point between us. Two live wires can never come together. If we do, there shall be chaos. I love my life. I also still love her. The truth of the matter is that I still sincerely pray for her in my closet. I don’t have anything against her.

But I did not know God was indirectly telling me her time under my roof has expired. She has chosen to pack out of my house on seven good occasions. In Yoruba culture into which I was born, if a wife should move out from her husband’s house for seven times it means a lot; her final tenure has elapsed in that house. It is a perfect divorce. I don’t want to complicate issues at this stage but do you know that no matter the situation, one need to respect elders. I still somehow regret the way she shunned former Governor Tinubu and his wife, Aunty Remi. She had the guts to cut the phone on Aunty Remi when they tried to intervene. Imagine that!

We have free access to our children
We have not separated in terms of sharing our children as reported. Truly, I have three children; two of them were delivered by Fathia. Zainab is the oldest. Fathia’s children are Khalid and Alliyah who both formerly schooled and lived abroad. Khalid was in Dublin and the other (Alliyah) who is the youngest was in England. The two of us take care of the two children equally. We have free access to them. And we have not shared our children as some magazines reported.

I’ve learnt my lessons
When I had an autocrash in 2006, I almost died. The message that kept ringing in my ear was, ‘you’re too carefree with women.’ By the time I woke up two days later at the University College Teaching Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, I became more afraid of women and at the same time, I appreciated them even more. I believe part of what caused my ruined marriage was because I exposed my wife too much to people. And I don’t want this to repeat itself. I detest showomanship. I have learnt my lessons.

Omoh, my angel
Omoh hails from Esan in Edo State. She was born to Pa and Madam S. Eyisojeh.
She is a fashion freak, God-fearing and a Christian. She does her things silently. She is in her 30s. She is fourth in a family of eight. Her three senior sisters are Elizabeth, Mary, and Edna. Her other younger siblings, Hope, Obel, Alex and Kelley are all based in the West. Among the many lady friends I have considered, she was the only one that stood out. I have friends from all parts of the world. If I had married Omoh in my early years I wouldn’t have had problems and the ordeals I went through. She was single the time I approached her. Though, it took me great time before she accepted my offer. I had lady friends who might have thought within them that they were Mrs. Wright. I had so many girl-friends, but incidentally, I did not feel them.

I prayed fervently before God told me she was my Mrs. Right. I did not waste time; I have performed every marriage rite required by her parents. So, we are legally married now. I prefer her staying in England. I advised her people to let her stay there for now for reasons I best understand. They too can understand better. When the time comes she would relocate to Nigeria or I may relocate to London. Interestingly, I fell in love again with a woman from Edo State, a land I had turned my back on after Fathia, who is from that state disappointed me. I was so glad to learn that nice people inhabit Edo State.

What I told Omoh
I have warned Omoh that wherever I see her face in the media, it means she wants to tread the path her predecessor trod and it may cause our separation. That is that for now. And I know her for one thing; she would keep to my instruction.

My role model
My model is G-O-D, God. But I have a god-mother. She is Oluremi Adikwu Bakare. The woman is among those I have to appreciate. I want to thank her for the financial and moral support she accorded me especially at the height of my turbulence.

Advice to artistes
I want other actors to learn from my experience. I won’t discourage any artiste from marrying someone in the same show business. But they, most especially, men should try as much as possible to be more careful in their dealings.

Balogun’s children also speak:

Khalid: I hate acting
I think I’m old enough to see for myself. Let me tell you, I can’t tread the line (acting profession) of my dad. I hate the N30,000 salary thing called acting. I want to become a wealthy, big boy. His monthly gross of N30, 000 or N40, 000 can’t sustain me when I finally grow up. Though, each time he heard me say it, it annoys him. But that is the truth.

Zainab: I want to be an actress
My mum and dad did not quarrel; they still love each other as before. We, the children also love one another. Though, daddy gives us free hand, I have always told Khalid to have a second thought as a way of supporting him. I have promised my dad that I will be an actress. He agreed to support me.

Gay pastor escapes mob attack in Lagos

Adisa admitted having sex with the boys but denied any ritual undertones.

A 21 year old man, Elijah Adisa, who was accused of sodomising teenagers for ritual purposes, narrowly escaped being lynched by a mob at Amai Street, Amukoko, on Thursday morning.

According to residents of the street, Mr Adisa, who was revered as a man of God, had been engaging in that act for a long time but luck ran out of him last week when his neighbours discovered he was having sex with one of the boys.

"We rushed to his house but he saw us coming and jumped the back fence of his house and ran away," said a resident of the street who did not want to be named.

Mr Adisa was sighted on Thursday morning in the area and it took the timely intervention of the elders in the community to rescue him from a gathering crowd that had descended on him. He was subsequently taken to the house of the Baale (community leader) of the area where some of the youth in the area continued to torture him.

Hypnotic act

Eyewitnesses accused Mr Adisa of hypnotising the boys before sleeping with them on a white cloth spread on the floor in his apartment.

Azeez Kareem, one of the boys who admitted being a victim of Mr Adisa's sexual acts, narrated what he experienced in his house.

"One day we were going to the field to play football when this man called us. He asked our names and our religion, I said Islamic and my cousin said Christian. He said I should leave. I went and came back and they were preaching. I don't know what they are talking," said Master Azeez, 17.

"One day, I just enter the house and I saw one boy. He told the boy to go outside. He then said I should go and buy Atare (Alligator pepper). When I came back he said I should pull my clothes and lie down on the floor, there was a white cloth on the floor. I don't know what he was doing. When he did that finish, he said I should eat the alligator pepper but I did not eat it."

Residents said that Azeez's cousin, Tunde, who had moved in with Mr Adisa for several weeks, had become a changed person in recent times.

"I just came back from school to see that my brother has started living with him. I didn't know him before. I asked my mother that this person that my brother is living with, did he know him somewhere before? She said no, that he is a prophet of God, that God sent him to help the boy. That was the first time I would meet that terrorist (Mr Adisa)," said Wale Razak, Tunde's elder brother.

Tunde was unavailable at the time of the incident; he had gone to write his General Certificate Examination papers.

"He (Tunde) used to be a very noisy chap but since he began living with the terrorist he became a very quiet person, he changed completely. And we were thinking the man was really preaching to him, we never knew he was using juju on him,"

Admission and denial

In absolving himself of any wrong doing, Mr Adisa denied indulging in any ritual act.

"Whatever they say, it is only God that really knows the truth. I did not run away, I went to the mountain to pray, at Osogbo. I only make sex with them," said Mr Adisa.

"I started doing it just this month and I've slept with only two boys. There is nothing like ritual. I don't force them nor give them money and I don't spread anything on the ground."

The beatings that Mr Adisa received from the mob, prompted him to excrete on himself; and the gathered youth proceeded to rub his mouth on the excreta before stripping him naked.

"It is very very bad and they say he is using it for money rituals. It has been going on for long but they just brought the matter to my attention and we have to take it very serious," said Jide Saliu, the Baale of Alafia.

"I have called the police under my jurisdiction. I will hand over everything to them. And I've talked to the Oba of Ijora and he said I should take the matter serious."

It was gathered that police officers from the Pako Police Post, Amukoko, arrived the scene later and took Mr Adisa away for questioning.

Ruggedy vs 9ice

Ruggedy vs 9ice

Micheal Stevens a.k.a Ruggedman would on the 20th of September 2010 add another year to his roughly mid thirty something years. Never would he have thought that he’d receive a diss track/album as his birthday gift from a colleague that once called him boss, a colleague that championed the hit single off his sophomore album hailing him ‘ruggedy baba the opomulero’ too bad! The Alapomeji camp just released a diss track titled ‘Talk am listening’ which featured Seriki.

The last time I checked Micheal never had it well with the Nine’s, first was the ego battle with erstwhile lyricist Modenine and off recent the very famous phone conversation with 9ice about the rumours of him (Rugged) sleeping with his ex-wife. It’s safe to say the Ruggedman has been doomed by the 9’s. The off recently quiet but twitter vibrant Micheal has evidently run out of ideas as to boosting his musical career even after putting out two singles from his much talked about last album which has taken longer than expected to drop. Teaming up with the Loopy crew, putting Ice Prince on a track and doing all that can be done to impress on the ‘She n my swagga’ track with production from Sossick, the ruggedman still couldn’t make things work, the best thing that has happened to him in recent times has been hosting the Star Quest show and starring in the Glo blackberry advert.

The past few years have not been too impressive for the rapper in the Music Industry from the indirect disses to Modenine urging him to mention his name to the known talking to you featuring Banky W where modenine took a direct jab at him with the famous punchline “you are not a father you’ve got intellect myopia, when I diss a baba its not Ethiopia” followed by the indirect reply by ruggedman in Banging, to the popular death blow part one where the Baba lost any lyrical credibility that he ever had.

The Discord with 9ice began with rumours of him been the cause of 9ice’s broken marriage and also the character portrayed in the song once beaten twice shy; thought to be giving a head by his ex-wife. He thought it as a smart move to record a conversation he had with 9ice on phone, release it online to prove his innocence, but that leak was the beginning and a catalyst for this song. Talk i’m listening 9ice sang repeatedly and in the first verse Seriki whitewashed Ruggedy reiterating one of Modenine’s line in death blow where he said Ruggedman was sleeping with his dancers. In the second verse 9ice went very direct mocking Ruggedman by calling him a bastard repeatedly. 9ice’s ex-wife Toni Payne appears to be caught in the middle in all of this has she tweeted her frustration on the whole scenario, affirming that Ruggedman releasing the phone coversation was a dumb move but 9ice releasing a track/album to that effect was insane and way childish.

The big questions??
Would ruggedman reply this diss song? If he does what would he say? One of the reasons he gave for not replying Modenine in his words was that he was too busy to think of a ‘broke lyricist’. So what would he make the base of his Braggadocio now? Or would he let this also fade away? The truth is whatever he does, Micheal Steven’s musical career did dwindle and the whole diss saga he is surrounded by establishes an unimaginable manifestation of Karma

Breaking news! No more free music in Naija from Oct 1 - as COSON engages accounting firm for full copyright licensing.

Mr Chinedu Chukwuji, COSON Acting General Manager; Chief Tony Okoroji, COSON Chairman; Mr. Kehinde Oyeleke, Managing Partner

Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), the nation’s sole government approved collective management organization for musical works and sound recordings has announced that come October 1, 2010, the era of free music on Nigerian air waves and in public places will be gone forever. The announcement was made by COSON Chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji, at the Boardroom of the society in Lagos during the signing of a royalty collection agreement between COSON and Olusola Adekanola & Co, one of the nation’s foremost indigenous firms of chartered accountants.

The implication of the new regime is that from October 1 all broadcast media organisations, hotels, restaurants, event venues, advertising companies, banks, telecoms establishments, airlines, road transporters, oil companies and such other enterprises in Nigeria which use music in any way to aid their operations will be made to comply with the Copyright Act or face legal consequences.
Omo wahala has sheled...who will agree to pay? Ko ma funny o!
Can this work in Nigeria?

By the agreement, the skills and resources of the two organizations are being aggregated to ensure that starting October 1, no organization using music in a commercial setting or in public anywhere in Nigeria is allowed to do so without the payment of copyright royalties as required by law. According to Okoroji, “Since the government approval of COSON in May, we have engaged the key users of music in continuous dialogue. We have taken the COSON Stakeholders’ Forum around the country and used different media to discuss the issues with all concerned. We did not jump on anyone neither did we harass anyone. We have been very professional about our mandate. The time has finally come for everyone to do their duty. We have respected the users of music. We expect them to reciprocate that respect. Any of them that is not licensed by October 1 may be attracting sanctions from us or will be exposed to the full weight of the other tools in our tool box”

The firm of Olusola Adekanola & Co is very well known in Nigeria when it comes to revenue collection. The firm pioneered the nation-wide Accelerated Revenue Generation Programme (ARGP) which has helped governments across the country to recover billions of Naira owed them in tax revenues. For several years, they have been one of the nation’s top accounting firms.

At the agreement signing ceremony during the week, Chief Okoroji said that the choice of Olusola Adekanola & Co for the COSON assignment was based on the firm’s proven capacity to deliver. He said that their mandate is to use their nationwide infrastructure to reach every nook and cranny of Nigeria and collect the money due to long suffering Nigerian copyright owners. He added that beyond the collection of revenue, COSON is very mindful of the prudent, professional and transparent management of the copyright royalties collected so that at the end of the day the real copyright owners are not short changed. Said Okoroji, “It’s a watershed event that COSON has as partner one of the most celebrated accounting firms in Nigeria to ensure robust enforcement of the Copyright Act. The transparent management of the funds that will arise from this partnership is critical. We don’t want any stories told about the money collected. It must get to the copyright owners accurately. We are stoutly determined to do a good job in the interest of all the stakeholders in the Nigerian music industry”

The Acting General-Manager of COSON, Mr. Chinedu Chukwuji, described the signing ceremony as “the dawn of a new day for the entire Nigerian music industry”. According to him, the agreement signing ceremony showed that COSON was “ready to deliver the dividends of creativity to rights owners, across the country and beyond,”

The Managing Partner of Olusola Adekanola & Co., Mr. Kehinde Oyeleke, said his company was aware of the enormity of the assignment and as such would put all hands on deck. “We feel excited and challenged. We know expectations are very high and we will give it our best”, Oyeleke said. He promised that his company will carry out its duties diligently, professionally and conscientiously, within the provisions of the law.

BREAKING NEWS: Terry G In Terrible Car Crash!

Terry G is lucky to be alive, after a nasty accident that left his car badly damaged around 3AM today.

The singer-producer was on his way home, after hanging out with friends in Ikeja, Lagos, when he ran into the road demarcation around Chemiron, close to Sunday Market, in Ogba.

An eye witness tells y-krohz entertainment crew Terry was the one driving, and he was in the car with friends.

‘The car is gone’ our source says. ‘And Terry is in the hospital responding to treatment’.

No word yet on where he’s being treated. His mobile phone is off, his BlackBerry inactive. And although his manager assures us ‘everything is under control’; we have cause to worry because he is either unwilling to offer details on the singer’s whereabouts, or he just doesn’t have the details.

Two members of House of Ginjah who were riding with him are also believed to be undergoing treatment.

The car- A Toyota Camry – is now lying at the office of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
