Star actress Cossy Orjiakor is not happy at the moment as we learnt her boyfriend dumps her.

Cossy took angrily on her Facebook status message on Tuesday, July 20, 2011 and blabbed the following message.

BISHOP OYEDEPO DISGRACES D'BANJ INSIDE CHURCH AUDITORIUM

The man of God at Living Faith Church worldwide also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop Oyedepo did not get carried away with all the blings and swags of Mohits star,Dapo Oyebanji popularly known as D’banj when they came in contact.


We learnt that D’banj was recently contacted to perform at a Youth Programme in Covenant University where the Bishop was also a special guest of honour.


Those present at the event said when D’banj was introduced by MC to mount the stage for his performance, D’banj appeared on stage in his normal bling-bling mode of dressing and when he was introducing his song, the highly respected Bishop Oyedepo stopped him.


According to eye witness account, we were told that the Bishop’s gesture took everyone by surprise when he ordered the ‘Fall in Love’ crooner to stop his performance.


It was learnt that the Bishop while trying to maintain the good standard of Christianity, told D’banj to remove the entire bling on his neck and to be cautious of what he’d say on stage.


Although some of the people who were there told us Bishop Oyedepo uttered the warning to D’banj jokingly, however, not a few maintained that he meant every word he said concerning the star musician.

NDLEA Arrests Fela’s Wife, 2 Others Over Marijuana

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has arrested one of late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s wives with substances suspected to be cannabis, the agency said in a statement today.

The suspect, Najite Anikulapo-Kuti, was apprehended within the week alongside a lady who was a former dancer for the music legend and a man at her Ikeja residence, Mitchell Ofoyeju, the NDLEA Head of Public Affairs, said.

A total of 340 grammes of dried weeds of cannabis were recovered from the suspects during search.

NDLEA Lagos State Commander Alhaji Sule Aliyu disclosed that the arrest of the suspects and seizure was made following a tip-off.

He gave the names of the suspects as Najite Anikulapo-Kuti, 45, found with 50 grammes of cannabis, Helen Richards, 36, found with 170 grammes of cannabis and Mike Arinze, 26, found with 120 grammes of cannabis.

“The suspects were arrested at Gbemisola Street, Ikeja. The substances recovered from them tested positive for cannabis,” the Commander stated.

The Chairman and Chief Executive of the agency, Ahmadu Giade, said that the case is under investigation.

He said: “the arrest has been brought to my notice and the case is under investigation.”

Najite who hails from Delta State has a daughter for the late music legend, the agency said.

“This temptation should have been resisted by me,” she reportedly said.

Richards who used to be dancer with Fela said that she sells cannabis to sustain herself.

The single mother with a three-year old son was found in possession of 170 grammes of cannabis.

In her words, “it was the demand of my customers that pushed me into cannabis trade. Most of them prefer to smoke hemp when drinking beer”.

Helen hails from Abi in Delta State.

The last suspect, Arinze, who in his confessional statement said that he sells cannabis in night clubs was found with 120 grammes of hemp in his pockets at the time of the arrest.

“I was drinking beer at Mama’s place when the officers came and found the hemp in my pockets. I used to sell hemp in night clubs to survive,” he was quoted as saying.

Don Jazzy Confirmed As Producer On Jay Z And Kanye West Album

Mo’Hits C.E.O and sole producer Michael Collins better known to the public as Don Jazzy has been confirmed as a producer on US rappers Jay Z and Kanye West’s upcoming collaborative studio album titled ‘Watch The Throne’.

There had been news about Don Jazzy adding his creativity to the album as soon as he and the entire Mo’Hits crew got signed to Kanye’s G.O.O.D Music a few weeks ago but the producer who hardly talks said it was only a probability in a press conference held in Koko Lounge.

The official track list hit the World Wide Web some hours ago and was confirmed by Hip-hop websites HipHopDx.com and Complex.com. Don Jazzy co-produced ‘Lights off’ which features Beyonce. Other producers on the song are Kanye West, Mike Dean, Jeff Bhasker and Q-Tip. Added vocals on the song come from Seal, Mr Hudson, Don Jazzy, Bankulli and Ricardo Louis.

Speaking with the Mo’Hits hit maker through an E-mail correspondence, Don Jazzy tells Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET) ‘Yes it is true sir. Kinda excited about that. Considering it’s like my major first. And see the amount of heavy weights I worked with. We thank God’.

The producer also let us in on his stay to the Big Apple, ‘We (Don Jazzy and D’banj) haven’t relocated to New York but we kinda spend a little bit more time than normal now just because we need to be closer to a few of the clients we’re working with at the moment.’ He stays somewhere in Soho. He doesn’t share the same apartment with D’banj.

NIGERIAN GIRL COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER HER BOYFRIEND JILTED HER

Pretty 26yr old Motunrayo Agbara's corpse was discovered hanging from the ceiling of her sister’s residence on Allen Avenue on Monday July 18, 2011.


They say she committed suicide because her lover jilted her, but her family members have disputed this.


Late Motunrayo had an operation last year that affected her uterus (Cyst), her womb was removed, so that contributed to her depression, which she complained a lot about and even attempted to kill herself last year but was rescued. Guess she succeeded this time around. So sad!


She finished from Queens College in 2001, was a graduate of Economics, University of Lagos and an ex-employee of Access Bank. She was buried yesterday Tuesday 19th of July at Vaults and Garden Cemetery, Ikoyi. May her soul rest in peace...amen.

Flood Wrecks D'BANJ, WEIRD MC's Nmultimillions Lagos Property!

The Nigeria Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research said the 264-millimetre rainfall recorded in Lagos is the volume expected for one full month. Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET) earlier in the year predicted that rainfall this year would be more in the South, putting the volume at between 1200 and 2700mm as against 300 and 1100mm in the north. In spite of this announcement by Lagos State Government, Lagosians were very reluctant to believe this until Sunday, July 10,2011 that flood took over Lagos in a ransom for 17 hours.

CHOREOGRAHER/DANCER KAFFY IS PREGNANT

One of Nigeria’s leading Choreographer/Dancer Kafayat Shafau a.k.a Kaffy is three months pregnant.

Kaffy is aware of the rumours going round but has refused to make a statement-confirming or denying it.

But close source insisted that the report is true and the dude responsible for her pregnancy is said to be one of the showbiz Big Boy known by the name Joseph.

CONTROVERSY TRAILS MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN NIGERIA 2011

There have been very serious allegations, hanging over the recently concluded Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria.

These reactions became so prominent after Anambra state born Sylvia Nduka who represented Taraba state emerged the winner.

It was discovered by those who were observant at the live show that almost all the girls who were shortlisted for this year’s competition scored lower than 50 percent in spoken English.

In fact, one of the hottest stories in town right now is that all the 34 girls knew how to do one thing and that was ‘murdering of the English Language.

Eventually Miss Taraba, Sylvia Nduka, an accounting student of University of Lagos was chosen.

When Guy Murray-Bruce asked her how she feels winning the MBGN, She answered thus;” I feel exciting and happiness.”

The organizers have since dismissed the mistake as normal saying that the new queen was caught by the excitement.

According to them, Sylvia deserved her crown as judgement begins the moment the girls entered the camp. Character in the camp, personality and ability to adapt to grooming they told us, accounted for 70 percent of the score while the judges at the venue only had 30 percent of the mark to dispense.

According to them, it was not possible for the judges to evaluate the 34 girls by merely looking at them from seats in under 2 hours. Again they insisted “the judges were also taking into consideration the emotions of a hired crowd which was not the best criterion to arrive at the choice of a real queen”.

Silverbird our source said, however accept that there was a judgement of error in the emergence of Sylvia because the judges were not informed that their job accounted for only 30 percent of the score; neither was the crowd nor the contestants.

Trouble however started when “Miss Lagos” who had the largest crowd followership emerged “Miss Ecowas” or fourth runner up, and declared that she was cheated.

According to her, she got less than what she expected.

Before then, one of the judges was alleged to have posted on his facebook page, that silverbird crowned the wrong queen from the one they chose.

But outside Silverbird group defending their choice, some of the judges have risen in defense of the new queen. Actress Susan Peters, who was a judge at the event, dismissed the claim that anyone was cheated.

According to her, it was only for those who lost to feel that way.

MUSICIAN TIMAYA JILTS ABUJA LOVER OVER LOSS OF PREGNANCY

While some stars try so hard to stay away from controversies, some are busy swimming in it. One of the people in the latter group is Timaya, the self acclaimed Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa.

The crooner who many thought was warming up to settle down following his controversial breakup with actress Empress Njamah sometime last year, has this time given birth to another controversial surprise.

Just recently, rumour swirled round the industry about Timaya’s romance with an alleged Abuja lover who it was said is pregnant for him.

According to the report, Timaya was full of joy when the news reached him and even started spreading the good news as an expectant father. He even declared his intention to allegedly marry the lover.

An impeccable source informed us that the plantain boy, as Timaya is fondly called, recently dumped the girl.

According to the source, his reason is that she lost the pregnancy few weeks after. And Timaya,we learnt,got furious about the whole thing, referring to her as bad luck for allegedly losing his first baby.

We also learnt that the message sent to Timaya on his Blackberry messenger was the result of the pregnancy scan that revealed the baby’s identity as a boy, which was the real reason he allegedly asked her to keep the pregnancy.

Ruggedman, 9ice Fight Again

The acrimony between two leading musicians, Michael Ugochukwu, a.k.a Ruggedman and Akande Abolore also known as 9ice, has taken a turn for the worse, with Ruggedman boasting that “9ice is my boy. He met his wife through me.”

9ice’s estranged wife, Toni Payne, is at the centre of the strained relationship between the erstwhile best friends.

Just as the acrimony between Ruggedman and 9ice was ebbing, the former again stirred the hornet’s nest in a new Yomba TV programme called Gbamu Gbanu.

Speaking in Yoruba language on a television programme Gbamu Gbamu, which will hit the screens on African Magic Yoruba on DSTV by 1 July 2011, Ruggedman said that 9ice had his first major break when he brought him on stage at a Nigerian Breweries show held at Mothelan’, Opebi, Ikeja. about six years ago.

He said that at the show, he introduced Toni Pyne to him and that was how they started, adding, “I don’t know that it is a crime to introduce someone to a woman. I wouldn’t have done that.”

Ruggedy Baba, as Ruggedman is also called by friends and fans, said when the story was making the rounds, he was waiting for 9ice to debunk it and since he failed to do so, he decided to state his own side, declaring, “he is a boy I trained by taking him to shows and that was what gave birth to the song, Opomulero.”

Gbenga Adeyinka, the brain behind the television programme, a top comedian and master of ceremonies, said Gbamu Gbamu, which has different segments like jokes, mock news and interviews, among others, is a way of bringing out his talent to show that he can also present a Yoruba programme.

He added that top comedians like Ali Baba, Omo Baba, Tee A and others will feature in the weekly programme.
