BREAKING NEWS; MUSIC STAR MC LOPH (OSONDI OWENDI) DIES IN FATAL AUTO CRASH

\\Barely have the remains of late singer Christy Essien-Igbokwe settled and we’re confronted with another death.  Eastern-based rapper, MC Loph is dead.
The chubby singer, Obiajulu Kenneth Nwaozor, made popular by his hit rendition of a remix of Late Osita Osadebe’s ‘Osondi Owendi’, was said to be driving down to the East along the Benin/Ore road when, his automobile crashed early Wednesday, September 14, 2011.  Loph was in the company of his sister and fiancée who was supposed to become his bride in a few days. His bride-to-be survived the accident while his only sibling died.
Multiple sources including a certain Andy Bello, who was scheduled to be at the quiet traditional wedding of the late rapper this weekend confirmed the Ore accident. We’re told Loph died on the spot.
According to close friend Soso, who spoke with the late singer less than 30minutes before the accident, MC Loph was indeed on a journey to the Eastern part of the country. ‘I’m really shocked. I just spoke with him less than thirty minutes before an FRSC official called me. Then a policeman too called to confirm.  I don’t believe this‘.
Soso was the first to be called by officials about Loph after the accident since his number was the deceased’s last dialled.
Radio presenter, Yaw who broke the news on Twitter said in a phone conversation that he was informed by a fellow church member of the deceased. ‘He’s an only son and he has an only sister. They were travelling together with his fiancée for his traditional. His sister died too but the fiancée broke her arm. His phone is still with the FRSC. The last time I asked I was told his (late) sister’s husband was on his way to the scene of the accident‘.
The late rapper is said to have recently put pen to paper with a record label that presented him the car he was driving when he had the accident. His last public appearance was at Capital Oil boss, Ifeanyi Uba’s 40th birthday which held at theEko Hotel and Suits, Lagos on Sunday, September 4, 2011. According to Yaw who invited Loph to the event, he came late so he couldn’t perform. ‘Ni*** Raw and I still talked about him yesterday. In fact Loph told me that Sunday that his new single would be ready on Monday (three days ago) and that he would bring me a copy but he didn’t before his trip. My sister, it’s really sad’, he ended.
Singer KC Okonkwo formerly of KC Presh said over the phone, ‘I’m crying. I’m tired of we losing young entertainers.’
We have not been able to reach family members, close relatives or law enforcement agents for a confirmation of the incident. The deceased’s phone, which, according to Yaw, has remained in the possession of law enforcement agents, is currently switched off.

The deaths in our industry are becoming scary sha.’

Obiwon went down memory lane with his own tweet ‘Met you @ my 1st stage act when I was 17,now you’re gone.Adieu MC Loph.I pray your family finds supernatural strength to endure this tragedy‘.
MC Loph who is known to rhyme in Igbo dialect started rapping from his secondary school days in the East. He attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
He is credited with two albums ‘Wrekognize’ and ‘Hands up which spurned the hit song ‘Osondi Owendi’ featuring fellow Eastern singer Flavour. Both albums were released under EastSyde Records. The rapper before his death worked with other acts like  Flavour, Blackface, Faze, Mr. Raw, and a few others.

37 Year Old Spartacus Star Andy Whitfield Dies of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

Friends and family have paid tribute to former Spartacus star Andy Whitfield who died on Sunday after a battle with cancer.
Whitfield's manager Sam Maydew said the 37-year-old actor died of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in Sydney, Australia.
Whitfield's wife Vashti in a statement called her husband a beautiful young warrior who died on a sunny Sydney morning in the arms of his loving wife.
Whitfield - who was born in Wales and lived in Australia - was a virtual unknown when he was cast as the title hero in New Zealand-filmed series Spartacus, a hit original series that made waves with its graphic violence and sexuality.
Whitfield was preparing for the second season when he was diagnosed 18 months ago.
New Zealand actress Lucy Lawless, who co-starred with Whitfield, said he had left an indelible mark on all of us in the Spartacus family.
He was a gentle man who never said a bad word about anyone, a gifted photographer, engineer (no really!) and a brilliant actor," Lawless wrote on her website.
"Andy's incandescent film presence made men want to be him and women want to marry him."
"How lucky we were to have him grace all our lives."
Spartacus director and producer Michael Hurst said production was stopped at all the show's studios this morning and cast and crew were told of Whitfield's death together.
"We took a little time to digest things and then carried on," Hurst said.
"The best tribute we can give to Andy is to go on and make a terrific show."
Hurst said although he was well aware of Whitfield's illness, the news was still sudden.

But we're a strong family. We all loved Andy and he gave us his blessing. So we're getting on with it."
Spartacus: Blood and Sand creator and executive producer Steven DeKnight expressed his sadness at the announcement of Whitfield's passing via Twitter .
"No words to express the depth of such a loss. You will be deeply missed, my brother," McKnight said.
The Starz network also released a statement through the show's Facebook site.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Andy Whitfield. We were fortunate to have worked with Andy in Spartacus and came to know that the man who played a champion on-screen was also a champion in his own life.
"Andy was an inspiration to all of us as he faced this very personal battle with courage, strength and grace. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. He will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and fans."
In January the network announced that another Australian actor, Liam McIntyre, would take over the role.

9ICE OPENS UP ABOUT HIS LATEST RELATIONSHIP WITH ESTRANGED WIFE TONIE PAYNE AND RUGGEDMAN

In a recent interview,Abolore Adegbola Akande popularly known as 9ice opens up about his latest relationship with estranged wife,Tonie Payne and Ruggedman.

Excerpts from the interview;

Not long ago we heard that your ex-wife Toni returned to your house?

See,she did not return, what happened was that she came to the house, because in our Yoruba tradition she has the right to visit the father of her child or children and if there is a space or accommodation, she can stay briefly to see her children.

So what happened was that she came and she has been coming. But that did not mean that she was coming to beg me or for me to beg her because that chapter is closed for now.

But how do you normally feel, that you are not living with the mother of your first child?

(Mood changes) Do you want me to stop this interview? If you want me to continue, stop asking me question about my private life.

As it is now,is Ruggedman your enemy?

Yes,but let us not go into that for now because,I have more important things to think about.

Ruggedman for now is struggling to release a new song that will sell,so for now I advice Ruggedman to learn song writing.

PASTOR RAPES 12 YEAR-OLD GIRL

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Edo state police have arrested a pastor who allegedly raped a 12-year-old choir member of his church at Afuda-Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of the state.

The incident incurred the wrath of some residents around the area, who destroyed some church equipment, while the pastor was detained at the Uromi Police Divisional headquarters.

Narrating her ordeal, the victim (who cannot be named for legal reasons) said she had gone to church for choir rehearsals when the incident occurred.

She said she and three other children were in the church, awaiting the arrival of other members, when the pastor and founder of the church drove into the premises in his Mercedes Benz car, and started enquiring about their names.

She said after they had given their names, the pastor called her into his office and asked her to sit on his laps.

While on his laps, the victim alleged that the pastor began to suck her breast and dipped his finger into her private part.

She added that she felt severe pains in her stomach, and consequently struggled to regain her freedom.

The incident, she alleged, also caused her to bleed as a result of the injuries she sustained.

The father of the victim said that he and his family became members of the church barely two months ago.

He noted with regret that joining the church had caused him pain, because he never expected that his daughter could undergo such unfortunate experience.

He appealed to government and the police to ensure that justice was done in the case to serve as a deterrent to other randy pastors.

He alleged that the suspect, who told him he was merely carrying out deliverance on his daughter, was arrested and later released on bail by the police.

The Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Esan North East Local Government Area chapter, Rev. Francis Okhai, confirmed that the matter had been reported to the PFN, to which the alleged rapist pastor belongs.

He said several cases of misconduct had earlier been reported against the pastor, but that it was the first time that allegation of rape was reported.

Okhai added that disciplinary action would be taken against the pastor if found wanting “in the abominable act, because the PFN does not condone any misconduct from its members”.

He said the pastor had, however, denied the allegation when questioned by some PFN officials

FRAUDSTERS USING FAKE WIZKID ACCOUNT TO DUPE PEOPLE ON FACEBOOK

Fast rising pop star Wizkid is the latest victim of fraudsters on Facebook.

The 21 years old singer we learnt is being impersonated by about three people on the social utility site thus duping of millions of naira in pretence to perform at shows in and out of the country.

Confirming this to us,his Manager Osagie Osarenkhoe said” It’s quite unfortunate how people try to mess up a brand others are spending so much energy and time to build. It’s true there are people on facebook who have been impersonating wizkid and we have had several reports of people who have been defrauded one way or the other.

Wizkid as I speak with you does not have facebook account because for about one year now his facebook account has been deactivated.
Just recently someone was asked to pay about 500k to an account for Wizkid to perform at a show but luckily he mentioned it to one of Mo-Hits manager who told him straight Wizkid cannot negotiate for a show himself and he gave the person my number.

It was not until he called me that he found out he was about to be duped. Right now we are going all out to let people know that he doesn’t have a facebook account and cannot deal with anyone on the internet

THE MAD WOMAN THAT STORMED MERCY JOHNSON’S WEDDING

While Mercy Johnson and hubby Prince Odianosen were happily exchanging vows at Christ Embassy church,Oregun, Ikeja on Saturday, August 27, 2011, little did they know a ‘mad’ woman would pay them a visit.

While vows were being exchanged, a woman dressed in long jeans skirt and a white ‘spaghetti’ top tried gaining access into the church but was immediately stopped by the security officials, who later found out that she was not mentally stable.

Despite several warnings made by the Security officials, instructing her to vacate the vicinity, the woman stayed put, pulling off a melodrama, throwing her suitcase right on the floor, opening it and flinging clothes everywhere. Pure entertainment for some reporters and cameramen who weren’t given clearance.

She also condemned the marriage saying that Mercy J was a ‘prostitute’ and that the wedding was ‘too expensive’. She however left an hour before the couple stepped of the building.

Yoruba Entertainers Who Keep Malice

Music and movie stars are meant to entertain their fans in a cordial manner and bridge the gap between their next neighbor. Also the act of entertainments is a tools to unite people who are not in friendship terms.

It is surprising that some of Yoruba movie and music stars are not in talking terms which remain a wonder to many of their fans. Some said that these celebrities battle themselves over certain issues such as supremacy battle, individual ego seniority and other differences.

Pasuma/Saheed Osupa: Fuji star pasuma and saheed osupa unarguably are sworn enemies. The two are wonderful Fuji musicians who are enjoying the public acceptance through their music. The both are no doubt a close rivals and yet to reconcile their differences. The duo have been in malice close to a decade due to the self-ego and seniority.

Iyabo Ojo/Lizzy Anjorin: The two elegant yoruba movie stars are on the battle field of supremacy which started like a child’s play few years ago. The duo have refused to embrace peace despite the intervention of close friends. The main cause of their rift is the same thing as supremacy ego. Only time will tell when the two will embrace peace.

Fathia Balogun/ Funke Adesiyan: Fathia balogun a nd funke adesiyan are tvwo yoruba movie actress that are doing very well in their chosen careers, while fathia has been in the industry over the years funke is a new entrant in the movie industry.

The both became enemies when funke strpped out with fathia’s ex-husband, saidi balogun. This made both funke and fathia to become the enemy of their time.

K1/ Obesere: Obesere and k1 de ultimate have been enemies for over ten years. While obeserw claims k1 is the main problem in fuji music, he is yet to state categorically why he has so much hatred for him. Obesere is still bitter a bout the something and has refused to let go the past while k1 has maintain maturity and has tried k.to bridge the gap.
How this will last only the time tell.

Gbenga Adewusi/ Segun Adisa:The duo of gbenga adewusi of bayowa films and segun adisa ,the presenter of labe orun, are close enemy who have been avoiding each other .

Their enemity began due to the issues arosed from the death of late ace comedian, gbenga adeboye. Segun adisa raised some counter aquisations agaionst badewusi due to the certain roles the bayowa played during the burial activities of the late fuwontan cooner.

Segun adisa claimed that the role of gbenga adewusi was suspicious which ignite the anger of adewusi as he claimed innocent of the allegations and since then both are in separate ways.

Jide Kosoko/Rammy Shitta Bay:The two veteran actors, jide kosoko and remi shita bay were closed pals before their friendship hit the rock. The current crisis rocking the ANTP is the source of their rancour.

Shita bay who was in the race for governorship seat in ANTP with the hope to win was trauncated by the influence of jide kosoko. The interest of jide kosoko in another candidate torn the legend apart.

Saheed Osupa/Murhi Thundr/Safejo Amam: The trio of Saheed Osupa/Murhi Thundr/Safejo Amama are sing alike. Both murhi and safejo amama adopts the singing style of osupa saheed which paved ways for them in the fuiji music. Te caucus thing in fuji music split the
trio apart.

Safejo and murhi had one time accused osupa on different allegations and the trio had also engaged in a public battle.

Singer MO'CHEDDAH In Assault Scandal

These days, there are various things that are happening that ordinarily won't be the concern of many. But because the world has become one global village as a result of the Internet, some stories naturally come to you without you stressing to get it. The advent of both Twitter and Facebook has also aided the way news is being disseminated. And this is the case of one of Nigeria's songtress, Mo-Cheddah who was involved in assault scandal that got leaked to the social network site Twitter.

Mo- Cheddah forgot that she is fast becoming a brand in the country and she didn't blink before hurling abusive words on the man involved and also assaulted the man, this much, we can reveal going by what we followed recently. Although, we can not say who actually fired the salvo, Jide Aboderin, the man at the centre of the assault, however, tweeted penultimate week that he was attacked by a Nigerian artiste, Mo-cheddah. Jide said his sin was based on the fact that Mo-Cheddah claimed he mocked her big nose on the popular social network, TWITTER.

No one knows how true the story is because Mo'Cheddah herself hasn't said anything, but Jide has been bombarding the site with tales of how he was verbally and physically abused by Mo'cheddah and her boyfriend.

Jide even narrated how Mo-Chedah's boyfriend missed Jide and ended up hitting someone's wife, when they met at a location in Lagos. The location was given as David O's studio.
Taking it to his twitter page, he said: “Mo'cheddah, her fat nose, her bf, his kpomo lips, all came to attack me while I was working in David O's studio today”.

“God made her nose that way. She can do surgery or deal with the comments. It comes with the spotlight. She cursed my daughter.
“As for the young man in question. I admire his courage. However, what happens next is out of my hands. He hit someone's wife in the process”.

“She said she would cut off my daughter's fingers and serve it to her on her birthday”.
“She also told me that I will bury my daughter. All because I said she has a big nose”.
If the story is anything to go by, then Mo'cheddah has just started, because there are hundreds of people who insult her big nose everyday”. Jide ended his tale.

Akindele confesses: Pray for Me! True to God, I need a man -Funke Akindele

Funke Akindele is a Nigerian success story. Here is a girl who has made it, who is a household name in Nigeria and beyond, who has fame and money, but one thing is missing: a man to marry her.

Like every girl, she dreams to have a home and a family all of her own. “Once I start my home, I hope to cut down on acting so that I can give my family more attention,” she says.

But for now, the men are not coming, or too scared to come, making her to turn to God in prayer.

“Man proposes and God disposes”, she says, waxing spiritual, “so people should keep their fingers crossed and pray for Funke Akindele to meet the bone of her bone and the flesh of her flesh and not somebody else.”

“It is one of my dreams to bear children soon and I believe it will come to pass soon.”

Not marrying early is something that seems to run in the family.

“My parents went through the process and it is their joy that I also pass through the same process,” she says.

There is a sense of poignancy to it all as the celebrity actress compares her situation to some of her age mates who are already married and have children.

“Some of my mates have more than three kids today,” she laments, again going spiritual: “Perhaps, this is how God wants me to be for now. When the time comes, and that time could be anytime, I hope to put acting on hold for a family”.

In a typical Nigerian family setting, there would have been parental pressures to marry, but not so with Akindele’s parents.

“I have a wonderful mother that prays and encourages me. She admonishes me not to go after money but true love.
“People who know me closely would tell you that I don’t have airs at all. Of course, I want to get married to somebody that I love and who

understands me; who loves me for whom I am.”

Funke’s situation is made difficult by the general perception of actresses as not being too good as wives.

“People say that men are often scared of actresses because they are famous, rich, drive around in posh cars and command a lot of attention. That all these make a ‘struggling’ guy gets scared and run away.”

“To all the guys scared of approaching her for marriage, Akindele says: “You don’t have to let inferiority complex overwhelm you. If God says you are the right person for me, then nothing will stop it.”

For a star actress of her stature to get a husband, Akindele knows she has to come down from her high horse or from her Olympian heights of pride.

“You have to be humble; don’t let it get to your head. Just be yourself and be down to earth.”

She recalls the so many occasions “when people want to walk up to me when I am in a public place and they are jittery. For instance, I was at Shoprite Mall recently and heard a guy telling his friend that he would love to say hi but felt I was a proud person but I shocked him by saying, ‘Hi, how are you? I am not a proud person o.’ I do that a lot of times.”

‘Where is the Glo money?’

Like every Lagos city girl, Akindele has had her own close shave with death, an experience that can easily be turned into a movie.
So far, she has experienced two different violent attacks.

“The first one was in the traffic,” she recalls “it was just a toy gun affair and I fell for it. They took my bag and said Jenifa jowo, ma bi nu (we are sorry).”

The second robbery took place at a popular Lagos Hotel where she lodged with three others during the shoot of Omo Ghetto 2.

For Akindele, it was one hell of an experience which nearly ended up in a rape because she was in her pyjamas and was getting ready for a massage. It was in the night, some minutes past 10 p.m., when she heard the shouts of Ole, Ole (thief thief).

“I immediately put a call across to the reception and they said there was nothing wrong and that it was just noise from the neighbourhood.

“Hardly had I dropped the call than I heard gun shots. I went cold immediately, I called out my friends. Bimbo was very strong, she quickly told us to wear our jeans and run into the bathroom.

“They were raiding the rooms’ one after the other. Our door was the last door to be opened. They didn’t find it easy. They left and returned into the room after one of them insisted that I was in the room.

“I recalled praying and my spirit told me that they would enter but I should pray that they won’t hurt any of us.

“They barged into the room and by the time they got to the bathroom door, my friends Bimbo and Joy had formed a shield in front of me.

“But when I heard them cock the gun, I leapt forward. One of them tried to hit me and asked for Owo Glo (Glo money).
“Another member of the gang came to my defence and told him to leave me alone, telling him I was the star of Jenifa.”

Was she raped as was widely alleged?

Akindele answered emphatically no!

“There is no iota of truth in the false story that I was raped. They took away money and jewellery. It was a close shave. Up till now, I am still wondering where I got the strength to face the robbers.

For coming out of robbery attack unscathed, Akindele has God to thank. She says, “God has been my strength. I pray regularly but I am no saint however. I don’t joke with my Psalms.”

A Nollywood icon who has starred in many big home videos, Funke Akindele’s defining movie was Jenifa, a comedy starring her as a campus “bush girl” who wants to belong to the circle of campus city slickers. So successful was Jenifa that Akindele wants to build the Jenifa character into a brand.

“I want to use Jenifa to change people’s lives” she explains. “Whenever Jenifa says “excuse me” the youth will listen, I see Jenifa later working in a crèche or as a nanny. A TV series on Jenifa is not out of the picture.”

Also in the pipeline is “The Return O f Jenifa” (TROJ) which will be in the cinemas in September. So far, it has been frustrating for Akindele to come up with the sequel to Jenifa. “our plan to make the event a grand one was threatened and it got to me at some point but I shook it off,” Akindele says “ I psyche up myself and reminded myself that there were so many people looking up to me.”

Naturally, Akindele is still expected to star as Jenifa in the sequel. Even though she excelled in the role, Akindele initially wanted someone else to feature as Jenifa.

“I never wanted to play the lead role in Jenifa. I played the role because I would not find anyone suitable for the character.

“The only person I would have assigned the role was Ronke Oshodi but I fell she was too big for the role and I couldn’t get anyone else. During the production, the workload was so much on me. Aside from writing, producing and acting, I had oversight of every department and process. I was exhausted at the end of the project but the grace of God has been sufficient for me.

“I have excelled as a producer and have received awards for these roles and I hope to get more by the grace of God. Like my mum will tell me, whatever thing one does, one should keep doing it because you will never know the one that will bring you fame and wealth. I will keep producing and I am sure one day, Hollywood will come knocking on my door.”

In a world where art imitates life, many think Jenifa and Funke Akindele are the same. It is one comparism that angers Akindele who says she cannot be compared “with that useless Jenifa character.”

“No, no, no,” she protests, “Funke Akindele looks better in appearance than Jenifa. This is because when you see Funke Akindele, she doesn’t talk or act like Jenifa as a person. They are two different people.

“The only thing they share together is that both Jenifa and Funke Akindele are nice individuals. Also, both of them don’t care about their dressing. I am not a designer’s freak. Because my colleagues are putting on Christian Louboutin shoes doesn’t mean I also have to do the same thing. I am just me. I don’t have to, but Jenifa would go all out to feel among.

“In addition, even in her ‘uncultured’ appearance, Jenifa doesn’t have a low self-esteem; same thing with Funke Akindele. I am first a simple, down to earth, go-getter and warmly lady. I don’t take life so hard. It’s not a do-or-die thing.

“Where I am today, I never knew I would find myself. I just love doing this thing. Anything I get involved in, I throw my will into it. At the end of the day, my success comes along the line.

“Whatever I do, I just want to enjoy it. I do my things well because, I love doing it. At the end of the day, I hear comments like ‘Funke Akindele is desparate’ or ‘she is a go-getter’”.

She likes to define her style in terms of simplicity. “I love to be single. Of course, I love looking good and I love to wear good things but I am not loud.”

When it comes to extravagance, Akindele says: “My vanity would be shoes, some of which even big celebrities don’t have yet, but I don’t wear them. This is because I hardly go out.”

Anyone wanting to marry Funke, should be ready for a workaholic who hardly attends social events because “If I am yet to finish work on a script, I won’t abandon my work. I work a lot.”

At the end of her hard work, Akindele is saddened by the cankerworm of pirates who feed where they did not sow.

“Piracy is eating deep into the fabrics of the industry,” she laments. “It’s now so sad that we hardly realize up to one million Naira in a movie.
“If we release in the morning, by evening, the pirates are out with their own edition. We don’t make money from DVDs again.”

Just like she is praying for a husband, so is she also praying for the day when the evil of piracy would be stamped out of the entertainment industry “so that a hard-working girl like me can fully reap from where she had sown.”

“One first needs to be prayerful and work hard,” she says. “I have not had a good sleep for some days now and that is because I have been busy lately. How I don’t break down has to do with the grace of God. I sleep a lot when I get the chance and I am trying to cultivate the habit of going to the gym and doing aerobic exercises. I sleep a lot and my folks don’t wake me, except when I have an appointment.”
