I wrote 'Instinct' on my sick bed — K1

Over the week, the much awaited three-in-one album of K1 de Ultimate, 'Instinct' finally hit the streets of Lagos. It is expected to reach other parts of the country by the end of next week. The album is a 18-tracker with two bonus jazz mixes. Omega music owned by K1 de Ultimate himself released the album while, it is being marketed by High Kay Dancet Ltd.

The 'King of Fuji' said in a chat that he wrote and composed all the songs while on his sick bed in Canada for some months. 'When I was sick in Canada, I had a lot of time to myself and there was a lot of reflections and inspiration for me”. The result is a three CDs album.

The hit tracks on the album include, Igbayi da, My story, Iwalewa and Eke ni won. He also did songs in honour of the new Elegushi, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi and the Olofa of Offa.

Other special renditions include Oro Idibo which is meant to educate the listener on the power of their votes and reasons why they should use it right. Oro - Ife is a song where K1 featured Mimi, the 2010 winner of Star Quest, where she proved to be a winner any day with the use of her sonorous voice.

K1, while chatting with E-Center, said he could not have done the songs without God. “I give God the glory for giving me the grace for such a release after five years of flavours of which I was ill for three months, I am very excited, “ he said.

According to his manager, and producer, Percy Ademokun, one million copies of the album had been pre-ordered by retailers and marketers nationwide. 'The demand is so great, we had to shift its release dates severally so as to meet up with the demand,' Percy said.

Instinct was co-produced by Percy Ademokun with K1 himself as the producer. The album was recorded at the 2KB studios which formally housed Ivory Music
